Mitchell / Gilleon obtained a $17,350,000 judgment against a white supremacist, and further achieved a $500,000 settlement against a bar owner.

On July 8, 2007, an African American machinist, age 44, entered Don’s Cocktail Lounge in Santee, California. Soon thereafter, two local skinheads were allowed to enter the bar even though they had caused trouble in the past by shouting out racist sayings, such as, "White Pride, White Power!" and showing off their white supremacy tattoos, including swastikas and images of Adolph Hitler. Later that evening, the African American machinist went outside to talk to a friend. He was followed by one of the skinheads and, without provocation, was brutally attacked. As a result of this assault, the machinist was permanently brain damaged.

The machinist retained Mitchell / Gilleon to represent him in a lawsuit against the skinhead who assaulted him and the lounge for failure to protect him. Our lawyers argued that the lounge should not have allowed the skinheads in the bar. The court agreed to the $17,350,000 judgment, and the bar owner contributed $500,000.
